Yo yo yo.
So we are still in Thailand. We are now in Chiang Mai in the North and we spent around 1 day (read: too long) in Auyuthaya which is just north of Bangkok. I don't care about the spelling of this town's name, it was too hot to care.
All is well for both of us however after my 2 years and Livia's 1 year away from travel we have forgotten some very important things:
1. That if i believed in a christian hell or heaven that i would believe that taxi drivers in Thailand have a special level of hell reserved just for them.
2. It is hot and humid here and if you are from Europe or 'Straya you will sweat a disgusting amount. I certainly have and in doing so have gone through all my shirts already in 5 days. Now the big question is, do i just throw them out or wash them? Which is cheaper?
3. The boy dogs have their balls still. Really, it is amazing. I look at these boy dogs running sometimes and i wonder if their balls could snap off from so much dangling to and fro. And i have to say that they are far bigger than mine are too. Sorry, but no photos of this yet. Still to come.
Livia has forgotten:
Generally, that trains outside Switzerland do not run on time. It is possible that trains in Japan are often on time. but they are certainly not in Thailand.
Last night, as our train moved from the acceptable '1 minute late' mark towards the '2 minute late' mark Livia lost control. She grabbed the nearest glass bottle, broke it over a bald old monk's head and began to threaten the charming and polite guards on the station. She was screaming, 'I want my 30 baht (1 franc) train fair back!!!!' I lunged for her to hold her down to stop this international incident from escalating rapidly. Fortunately, the guard actually looked quite bored but still smiled at the both of us. Stupid farang. For the next 40 minute Livia went between quietly crying and me telling her the train would arrive any minute to her manic attempts to murder anyone involved in the railways in Thailand.
How will this story continue????
Will you still bother to read it if it does?
i believe it's อาณาจักรอยุธยา or ayutthaya
ReplyDeletei remember that head in the vines . . . a german lady was taking a photo of it and almost got tackled by the guards because she was taller than buddha (and you can't be taller than buddha).
tim - just buy more shirts. but make sure they're really tacky so the photos are hilarious.
livia - don't worry, i don't believe you would be so crazy in the train station . . . even if the train was 2 minutes late!
You are quite clever Anna. Indeed it is อาณาจักรอยุธยา. My mistake :)
ReplyDeleteYour idea about shirts is also good actually. I bought one last night with the flag on it (cheesy enough?) but my sweat has caused a lot of the red in the flag to flow down the rest of the white shirt. I will look tonight for more cheesy shirts though.
