Flight of the Gibbon...

I can tell Tim's getting a bit old, just after his birthday... he mixed it all up about who lost their patience at the train station. I had to convince him to join me for the canopy adventure....

We got up at 5:45 (!), without breakfast (!) and headed to the jungle for a very cool yet bizarre day. We went on a 3 hour trip through the top of the rainforest near Chiang Mai. This is an ultra touristy thing to do but i think this has been the best part of the trip so far for us.

After Tim got over his first shock and started to manage his fear, he turned out, to have as nearly as much fun as me. it was an absolutly great feeling to fly trough the top of the jungle through massive trees and big bamboo bushes.

Livia, as you may know, is a little taller than most people back at home, but here in Asia, she is once again a giant Frau. As she came in to land on some of the trees after flying through the air she would need to be stopped by our humorous although quite small guide. On one such 'landing' she pushed him almost off the edge of the platform to the jungle below, and smashed her bum into the tree. Most of the rest of the people on the tour laughed heartily at poor Livia's expense while she frantically tried to hold onto the platform herself. We are sorry to report she has a big blue bruise on her bottom today :(

This morning we both had trouble to complete the simple task of walking down the stairs to breakfast.

Perhaps both of us are getting old?

...or maybe just Tim.

After we send this post we are now heading off to Laos and should cross the border tomorrow morning. We hope everyone is fine. Speak soon...
